Players Championship draws to a close

Taylor and Barney will not be in action

It’s the penultimate weekend of Players Championship action as the tour returns to the UK for a double-header at the K2 Centre, Crawley.

Adrian Lewis is looking to get his season back on track after some disappointing results both on and away from the main stages. James Wade looks to be hitting some good form ahead of the Grand Slam and also takes up a position in the weekend’s draws, as does last Sunday’s winner in Benidorm, Mervyn King.

Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld will not be in action having had a run out in Benidorm last weekend. Instead opting, presumably, to spend the time in front of the practice board in preparation for next weekend.

John Part wasn’t in action in Spain last weekend but will play this Saturday and Sunday. Mark Walsh, Vincent van der Voort and Justin Pipe are all also involved having secured their places in the Grand Slam with their results seven days ago.

Both Players Championships this weekend will take on the traditional best-of-11-legs format with the draw being made at 11am on the morning of the day’s play.
