Nuland Players Championship Betting
Gary Anderson is the strong betting favourite to win each of this weekend’s Players Championship events in Nuland.
The Scotsman won the most recent Players Championship event in Derby three weeks ago by beating Peter Wright 6-2 in the final and is 11/4, with Sky Bet, to follow that up with victory on Saturday.
The Nuland Players Championship is the final double-header before the cut-off for qualification for the World Grand Prix. Co Stompe currently occupies the final qualifying position in the Players Championship Order of Merit and will be hoping for a good weekend to secure his position in next month’s major.
The Dutchman is priced at odds of 25/1 to win each of the weekend’s events. Steve Beaton and Colin Osborne are Stompe’s nearest challengers and can be backed at odds of 40/1 and 50/1 respectively to win on Saturday or on Sunday.
Paul Nicholson has safely booked his place at the World Grand Prix and is a 10/1 chance for the win here having made the semi-finals of both the Players Championship events in Derby.
Wes Newton, who was a beaten finalist in Canada at the end of last month, is also 10/1 while Mervyn King is made fourth favourite at odds of 12/1 despite first round exits in both of the Derby tournaments.
Phil Taylor, James Wade, Adrian Lewis, Raymond van Barneveld and Simon Whitlock are all notable absentees from the list of entries for the Nuland Players Championships.
