Hankey 10/1 to find success in PDC

Ladbrokes make him 10/1 to win any PDC major within the next calendar year

Following defeat in the semi-finals at Lakeside to Christian Kist, Ted Hankey announced that he would be making the switch from the BDO to the PDC. And bookmaker Ladbrokes make The Count a 10/1 chance to win a PDC major in 2012.

“This is it for me. Thanks a lot to everyone, I've had great support here but times change, I've made my decision,” said Hankey after losing to Kist.

“I'll miss this place, you can't explain the Lakeside atmosphere, but it's time to move on.”

The 43-year-old, who already has two world titles to his name, is a 100/1 shot to be crowned the 2013 PDC World Champion. And Ladbrokes make him 10/1 to win any PDC major within the next calendar year.

“Hankey will enjoy counting his prize money in the PDC. The odds suggest he has some work to do but he'll be a great character to watch at the World Championship,” said Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes.

The same bookmaker also offer odds of 4/1 that the controversial Stokie is issued a formal reprimand for bringing the game into disrepute after bad televised conduct on stage.

Hankey isn’t expected to be the only player to make the switch across the divide and The Magic Sign go 4/6 that two or more other BDO players join Ted in the PDC in 2012. It is 11/10 that one or no players switch.
