Grand Slam Betting: Anderson v Dolan

No player lets the pressure get to him more than Anderson

Gary Anderson’s TV woes continued on Saturday night as the Scotsman lost to Nigel Heydon to make it five defeats in his last six in front of the cameras. Should that run become six in seven when he plays Brendan Dolan this evening then his Grand Slam campaign will be over.

Much as he did in Dublin against Richie Burnett last month, Anderson raced into an early lead against Heydon but then threw it away by taking his foot off the gas. If the Scot is to realise his full potential in the PDC you feel he has to learn to be more ruthless.

And he’ll need to be so tonight against an Irishman who showed only four weeks ago that he is capable of mixing it with the best when he gets things right. Dolan also lost his opening match, but that was due more to his opponent’s ruthlessness than any major misgiving in his own performance.

No player lets the pressure get to him more than Anderson and Dolan has the game to punish him. At odds of 11/4 there is great value in having a small flutter on the World Grand Prix runner-up, but also cover it with a bet in the handicap market where Dolan +1.5 legs can be backed at 6/5.

Recommended Bets:

Back Dolan to win @ 11/4 with Sky Bet [£10 Free Bet]

Back Dolan +1.5 legs @ 6/5 with Bet365 [£200 Free Bet]
