Championship League Group Two Betting
Phil Taylor is the strong betting favourite to avenge his Championship League Group One semi-final defeat by winning Wednesday’s Group Two.
The Power cruised through the group stages yesterday winning all seven of his league matches to top the group. But was thwarted by an inspired Wes Newton at the semi-final stage as The Warrior checked out 140 to win the match in a deciding leg.
Gary Anderson went on to win the final while Adrian Lewis and the winless Terry Jenkins were eliminated from the competition after finishing the day in the bottom two positions in the group. Paul Nicholson, Mervyn King and Andy Hamilton replace the trio for Championship League Group Two.
Sky Bet make Taylor the 21/20 favourite for the win and despite yesterday’s semi-final exit it’s difficult to look past the 2008 tournament winner. James Wade is 7/1 but looked well off the pace yesterday, Simon Whitlock played well and looks a good each-way bet at 7/1 while Newton is also 7/1 to win the group but questions must be asked about whether he can produce the same quality of darts two days in a row.
At the other end Andy Hamilton looks a shoe-in to finish in the bottom two and can be backed at odds of 4/6 to oblige. King is the 7/4 second-favourite to be eliminated while Mark Webster is 2/1 to finish in the bottom two despite narrowly missing out on a top four finish yesterday.
