Championship League Group Three Betting

Paul Nicholson looked in good touch yesterday

Wayne Jones, Colin Lloyd and Mark Walsh enter the fray today as they join Championship League Darts Group Three.

Gary Anderson and Phil Taylor have already booked their place in the Winners Group while Adrian Lewis, Terry Jenkins, Mark Webster and defending champion James Wade have been eliminated.

Simon Whitlock has been getting progressively closer to the Winners Group after he followed up a semi-final defeat on day one with a loss in the final yesterday. As a result Ladbrokes make him their 3/1 favourite to win Group Three. However, he has had some problems closing out games in the last couple of days and therefore I wouldn’t be rushing to back him at that price.

Paul Nicholson looked in good touch yesterday and can be backed at an appealing 9/2. Wes Newton was a little bit hit and miss on Wednesday and should be avoided also at 9/2.

Colin Lloyd enjoyed a good run to last Saturday’s Nuland Players Championship final, where Gary Anderson beat him. At odds of 10/1 there is plenty of value in backing him each-way here.

At the other end of the table it is worth taking a look at the out-of-form Mark Walsh to be eliminated. Once famed for his results in floor tournaments it’s now a long time since Walsh last made any significant impact on the tour. Take a chance that the 46-year-old finishes the day in the bottom two at odds of 2/1 with Sky Bet.

Recommended Bets:

Back Paul Nicholson to win @ 9/2 each-way

Back Colin Lloyd to win @ 10/1 each-way

Back Mark Walsh to be eliminated @ 2/1
