In form Huybrechts can prosper in Championship League
The seventh group of the Championship League of darts is played out on Tuesday at Crondon Park in Essex and the bang in form Kim Huybrechts looks like a great bet to add his name to the Winners’ Group which is played on Thursday.
The Belgian claimed his second tour win of the season on Sunday in Killarney and will be full of confidence as he returns to Essex and as he prepares for the inaugural Masters event at the start of November.
The Hurricane joined the fray in Group Three so although he has not managed to win through a day’s event thus far, he has been very consistent and picked up plenty of scalps in the competition. After his £10,000 win on Sunday he is now ready for that extra push to victory. At 5/1 with William Hill he looks tremendous value to do just that.
The favourite for Tuesday’s event is actually Peter Wright who has lost out in the final of the last two groups to Michael van Gerwen and Ian White. He is clearly going to be a threat again but he couldn’t manage a victory at the weekend like Huybrechts did and at a best price of 7/2 with Boyle Sports he does not look like nearly as good value.
For a better value bet you should look at an outsider to reach the semi-finals and the one that looks most likely is Steve Beaton. The Adonis may only be joining the tournament at this late stage but he has been playing fantastically of late and is a threat to anyone in this group. He could even upset the odds to win this one but certainly looks a good price at 5/4 with Sky Bet to finish in the top four.
