Chisnall claims German Darts Championship

Dave Chisnall produced some incredible darts over the three-day German Darts Championship in Hildesheim to claim the £20,000 first prize and crucially move up to number seven in the PDC Order of Merit.

The former BDO World Championship finalist has admitted himself that his form this year has not been what it can be but he seemed to be back to his best in Germany as he defeated the likes of Kevin Painter, Paul Nicholson and Peter Wright in the final, a contest he won 6-2 and never gave Snakebite a chance.

The highlight of the weekend for the St Helens man though was his incredible performance in the semi-finals which saw him see-off Steve Beaton 6-4 with a mammoth 106.3 average and by finishing in style in the final leg with a 170 checkout.

Chizzy has now crucially got himself a seeded place at the World Grand Prix which takes place next month in Dublin unless someone can usurp him in the top eight at either the forthcoming Players Championships in Barnsley or the seventh European Tour event of the year in Sindelfingen later this month.

Chisnall is in to 33/1 with Sky Bet to win the Grand Prix next month which would be his first major television title in his career and would guarantee him a place in next year’s Premier League. He is also 20/1 with the same bookmaker to triumph at each of the Players Championships in Barnsley this weekend.
